Cargill Cares Spain contributes to the fight against COVID-19

Cargill Cares Spain has made a donation of 5.000 € to the Barcelona Food Bank to help in the Food Collection Campaign “No home without food”, food aid has multiplied since the beginning of the state of alarm in Spain and the demand for food has increased by 30%.

In parallel through a corporate grant from the Cargill's Global Partnership Fund, our Spanish Team of Cargill Cares with the support of Isabel Dimitrov, Community Engagement Senior Specialist for EMEA, they have achieved to make a donation effective of 80.000 $ to the Fundación Ángel Soler Daniel coordinated by the Official Medical Association of Barcelona (CoMB) and of 40.000 $ to the NGO Médecins Sans Frontières in Madrid, with the objective to help in the fight against Covid-19 and to contribute medical supplies to hospitals. “

May 2020

Cargill is working with our nonprofit and NGO partners around the globe to help address food security, health and safety needs and industry challenges due to the spread of COVID-19.

In Spain, our efforts have been two-fold:

  • Addressing growing demand for food bank services as a result of the crisis by supporting the Barcelona Food Bank to support continued food security for those who are most vulnerable in our communities
  • Medical workers are on the front lines of this pandemic, and keeping them safe is crucial for the health of our communities. We’ve provided grants to Fundación Ángel Soler Daniel (foundation coordinated by the Official Medical Association of Barcelona (CoMB) and NGO Médecins Sans Frontières in Madrid with the objective to contribute medical supplies to hospitals.
